2022 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Classique

2022 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Classique

Our Pinot Noir Classique is an assemblage of all our North Willamette Valley vineyard sites and is a fine example of expert blending by our winemaking team, embodying our true "Classique" style and spirit. Aged in 15% new French oak, grapes designated for this blend were hand-harvested and fermented separately by vineyard and block, allowing the Lange's to create this precise and tightly-focused signature wine that consistently over-delivers for the price.

93 Points | Decanter
“A melange of bright berries mingles with perfectly paired spice in the fresh and zesty Willamette Valley blend from Lange. The palate offers mouthfuls of bright cranberries, blood orange zest and candied raspberry flavours. A savoury freshness follows with fresh wintergreen and white pepper—an alluring wine of freshness and verve with a laser-focused minerality and bright acid lift. Drinking Window 2024-2031.“ -Clive Pursehouse

93 Points | International Wine Report
The 2022 Lange Classique Pinot Noir boasts a medium ruby-purple core with a light blue rim. It’s super young and a bit tight but already showing promise with a gorgeous nose of wild blueberries, Bing cherries, white pepper, dusty earth, and shades of sassafras. It’s elegant on the palate, with rounded sweet tannins playing alongside the zippy acidity. It’s a delicious bottle of wine for the entry-level Lange this vintage.

91 Points | Vinous
The 2022 Pinot Noir Classique is distinctly savory, with a burst of white pepper, roses and lavender giving way to wild strawberries. Textures of pure silk are displayed as clove-infused wild berry fruits cascade throughout. This tapers off perfumed and spiced with a residual bump of acidity, maintaining a lovely freshness. -By Eric Guido on January 2024. Drinking Window 2023 - 2028.

Spicy, fruit-forward nose with undertones of licorice and dried herbs. Medium-bodied with crisp acidity and a juicy aftertaste. It’s fresh and seductive. Drink now. Screw cap.

91 Points 'Critic's Choice' | Northwest Wine Report
70% of the fruit for this wine comes from Lange Estate in the Dundee Hills. Light in color, the aromas on this young wine offer notes of brown stem, cigar box, tangerine twist, flower, bark, and an assortment of red and darker fruit. Pretty, polished, somewhat lighter-styled flavors follow, gliding on the finish. There’s a whole lot of quality and value to be had. 13.5% alcohol. Screwcap. 9,300 cases produced.

Aromatically, this is a bowl of mixed fruit that includes strawberry, blueberry and watermelon. Hiding behind the fruit are aromas of balsa wood and loamy soil. Flavors like blackberry, lemongrass and cedar fill the mouth. The acidity is bright, but the tannins are still grippy. Enjoy with a banh mi sandwich. — Michael Alberty
